Cruck House

Cruck House.

Cruck House, image The majority of the houses built in the Middle Ages and Tudor times, were these primitive 'crick' type timber houses. They were built in 'bays' of 16 feet and pairs of crucks were obtained by splitting timbers that were naturally curved. That was when there was still a lot of virgin oak growing all over England.
Somehow the photo above makes the model seem a little narrower than it really is. (see card ). This is another real easy model to put together, and the lilac growing on the side of the cruck house is special.
